Sunday Morning Small Groups

"Make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose." – Philippians 2:2

We believe that being a part of a small group is an important part of building community within the body of Christ. Our small groups meet on our church campus on Sunday mornings for the purpose of studying the truths of God's Word together. Everyone is encouraged to plug into one of these Sunday morning small groups.

College (18-Mid 20s)  –  led by Nathan Moots  –  Upstairs Bldg. B

Are you in college or college-age, and looking for a place to belong?  Whether you are a local or visiting on the weekend, we invite you to join us, learning to love the Lord and living life for His glory while in college.

Young Married (20s-30s)  –  led by Luke Colley  –  Room A238

Join couples who are engaged to be married, newly married, or young married families. We focus on establishing mature relationships with Christ and with one another as we begin lifelong journeys.

Explorers  –  led by Pastor Jim Daniel  –  Room A239

The Explorers class is a diverse group of married couples who love to study and “Explore" the Bible together. Pastor Jim Daniel and his wife Kay facilitate the teaching of this class as we journey through scripture and life together.

Family Life (30s-40s)  –  led by Jason Tidwell  –  Room A222

Join families with elementary and middle school age kids, who desire to build each other up through Gospel-centered studies, and support each other through prayer, weekly connection, and a fun monthly gathering.

Encounter (40s-50s)  –  led by Brent Fleshman  –  Room A240

Join a group of multi-life stage adults as we study different books of the Bible and different topics from the Bible. Have part in encouraging fellow Christians as we Encounter Christ in our daily lives.

Mary and Martha  –  led by Lisa Baxley  –  Room A138  (ladies only)

A group of praying and encouraging women in all stages of life, who face challenges and stumble but are supported by our faith in God's word, our church family, and each other.

Harmony Ladies  –  led by Beverly Shaddy, Sherri Webb  –  Room A140

A happy collection of married, divorced, and widowed senior adult ladies, who study the Bible with one another, encourage one another, support one another, and serve one another and the church family.

Second Wind  –  led by Von Johnston  –  Fellowship Hall

The Bible is not just a collection of stories. It is the story of God’s plan to rescue His people. It is the story of redemption, and it’s our story, too. Dive deeply into God’s story through The Gospel Project.

The Gospel Project  –  led by Joji Varghese  –  Room A223

Join this group that is made up of all ages and stages of life as they study The Gospel Project, an ongoing Bible study resource that helps participants encounter the gospel of Jesus Christ on every page of Scripture. This chronological, Christ-centered Bible study will help you turn the gospel story into a gospel culture and motivate participants to mission at home and around the world.

Home Bible Study Groups

In addition to our Sunday morning small groups, we also have groups that meet on different days in various homes throughout our community for fellowship and Bible study.  If you would like to join one of these groups, simply click the name to find a Google Map location.

Langford Home Group (Centerton)

The Langfords are married with five kids. Craig works at JB Hunt and Michelle works as a ministry assistant on staff here at the church. Craig and Michelle want their home to be a place of community, where people do life together. They are open to all ages and kinds of people joining them each week. Every week includes dinner and Bible study.

College Home Group (Centerton)

The Babbs host a college small group at their home in Centerton every Tuesday night. When the weather is nice, the group often meets at the Bentonville Square. These Tuesday nights are spent in Bible study and prayer with dessert on the side. The evenings typically are rounded-off with games and conversation.

Shaddy Home Group (Centerton)

4:00pm  *Ladies Only Please

Beverly and Marilyn have been actively involved in a ladies group for many years. These ladies meet at Beverly's house for Bible study, fellowship, and prayer. They welcome any ladies who would like to join them.

Unweary (Running) Group (Church Campus – Parking Lot north of Bldg. A entrance)

Gigi, a long distance runner, wants to use running to connect. “Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us!” (Hebrews 12:2) She has launched a Christian running ministry named "Unweary". Each Wednesday evening includes a group run/walk (all ages and levels of runners/walkers welcome), followed by joining the Adult Bible study in the Fellowship Hall. Unweary competes in 5k, 10k, and other races.

Men's Prayer Breakfast (Church Campus – Fellowship Hall)

Every Thursday morning, any man is invited to join the men of First Baptist for a Men's Prayer Breakfast. Be ready to wake up early and get here to grab a seat with fellow brothers. Teaching is shared in the group and many men find friendships that branch off from the large group. Join them early Thursday mornings and come hungry.

Cothern Home Group (Gravette)

Ray and Judy have both been active church members here for over 12 years. Both have been previously married, with deceased spouses. Ray is a deacon and project manager here at First Baptist. Both are involved in missions and are active in many church activities.
