PLAN A TRIP
Pray and find a trip.
Mission Trip Description
Pray for God to show you which mission opportunity you should particiapte in. You might do this by visiting the world map in the worship center and praying for the world to hear the gospel at least 1 time. Then, locate the mission trip descriptions board next the map. Find the opportunity for you and take an information sheet where you can learn specific trip details and descriptions..
Get proper identification.
Passport, ID card, etc
Most places require mission teams to have proper identification. This means, if you are headed anywhere in the US, you will need a state issued ID. For international trips, you will be required to have a passport. The process for applying for a passport can take up to 6 weeks. So start now.
You can download the form by clicking here (PDF), or visit travel.state.gov for complete information and details on obtaining a passport. A great option to the sometimes long lines at a local post office is provided to Benton County residents at the County Courthouse. Click here for information on the passport services provided at the Benton County Courthouse.
Contact the trip cordinator.
Call the specific trip cordinator to learn more about the specific mission opportunity and then ask to be a part of the team.
Submit your trip application with a deposit.
Application | $$$
Once you know which mission opportunity is right for you, complete The Mission Project and Volunteer Information forms available here, and then submit to the trip cordinator with the required deposit for that trip. For finanical assistance, contact the trip cordinator.
Now that you have been accepted on a mission team, it's time to start enlisting prayer and financial support for the trip. Anyone who goes on mission for the gospel needs prayer support. There will be those who also need financial support. A simple and engaging way of enlisting support is to write letters telling of your trip and the needs you have. At least the recipient can be a prayer warrior while also knowing of any financial need. Don't forget to start saving trip money.
Notepad and pen
Some trips may require pre-trip training and orientation. You need to schedule to be at the training, ready to take notes. You want to have as much training as possible.
pack the bags
It's time to go. All that is left is for the FBC church family to commisson you, pray for you, and send you to carry the gospel on whichever mission you're headed on. Don't miss it! Then after the mission, be prepared to share the stories!
